Discussion/Action:

1. Minutes from the September 17, 2007 meeting were reviewed and approved.

2. Press Box – Work is finished on the windows and siding. The balance due of $950 to Ferris Builders has been paid.

3. Financial Update - Monty Porter reviewed the months activity, reporting the following:

Opening balance of: $2847.55
Deposits of: $0.00
Expenditures of: $211.87 Storage facility shelving/supplies (Hook)
$96.00 Belts for team (invoice from last season) (T-shirts Printing)
$167.70 Dugout ceiling lumber and supplies (Beauregard)

Close Balance: $2371.98

4. Sound System - Robin Hook reviewed quotation for sound system upgrade provided by Crookston Audio. Crookston proposed the need for a new Mixer, microphone, and all-weather speakers to bring the system up-to-date. A motion to approve the expense of $1413.30 was made by Hook, and was seconded by Ken Popp. Board voting was 6 in favor with 1 abstention (Rauch). Hook to make contact with Crookston and arrange for soonest installation.

5. Spirit Wear. Hook and Paul Schneider worked with Jack Pearl’s Sporting Goods to create a line of Mustang Baseball Spirit Wear for the booster group to sell. A pdf flyer was generated and Kathy Irwin agreed to email the flyer to our baseball families list in an effort to generate sales at the upcoming November board meeting. Hook agreed to handle the ordering and accounting of the Spirit Wear orders that come from the November (Holiday) sales drive. Orders received by Robin Hook by 11/21/07 will be accepted with delivery back by the Holidays.

6. Tax Status. Porter agreed to continue follow-up with Mark McCoy as to requirements for filing for tax exempt status.

7. Dugout/Storage Facility. Beauregard reported the project as finished save the need for a finish coat of paint on the dugout ceiling and racks in the storage room for rakes, etc. Beauregard will work with Coach Schneider to finalize floor plan for storage area in an effort to finalize needed racks. Beauregard was to check back with Dr. Albertus as to status of electrical. (Note: as of these minutes being written, electrical in storage facility as well as press box was complete. Thanks to Dr. Albertus and Dr. Edlund).

8. Website Update. Bill Rauch reported having loaded many pictures. Rauch also reported having gotten the Mustang baseball website linked to the P.C. high school web site main page. Rauch agreed to load the Spirit Wear pdf flyer to the web site to increase awareness. Beauregard reported continuing work on obtaining directions to opponent baseball fields and forwarded already completed work to Rauch for inclusion on the web site.

9. Winter Field Closure work day. After discussion, Sunday, 11/4/2007 from 1-4 p.m. was chosen for the field closure work day. Irwin agreed to email families to encourage player and parent attendance.

10. Coach’s Update. Coach Schneider reported the following:

Uniforms – Dr. Edlund agreed to purchase new Varsity game jersey’s (navy in color). Booster club, along with Coach Schneider’s at-school fundraised account, agreed to purchase new Varsity game pants to go along with the new jerseys. The current Varsity set of white uniforms was discussed by Schneider as being moved to the Junior Varsity team so as to provide the JV with a 2nd set of uniforms.

District Tournament Bid – Schneider reported a bid to host the District baseball tournament was submitted by Dr. Edlund. The MHSAA has not yet awarded the bid for the 2008 season.

New cage nets for Stable – Schneider reported the need for new indoor batting cage nets in the Stable. The $300 purchase cost was to be taken from Coach’s internal (school) fundraising account.

11. Spring Break: Coach Schneider reviewed dates for the school spring break as well as dates that players may be excused from practice. Official spring break for the school is Monday, April 7, 2007 through Friday, April 11, 2008. Players will be released from practice beginning Thursday, April 3, 2008 and must be back for a mandatory practice on Thursday, April 10, 2008. For players remaining in town during spring break there will be daily, optional, practices held at 3:30 p.m. each day.

12. Winter Workouts. Coach Schneider reported times for winter workouts have not yet been established and Coach will continue to work with Dr. Edlund to secure needed indoor time(s).

13. Lawson Cleaning. Cleaning of Lawson Arena as a team fundraiser was reviewed again. Irwin agreed to email families with dates as well as to make it known each player, with accompanying parent, is to work two of four cleaning dates.

14. Spring Clinic dates. Coach Schneider continues to develop dates for spring clinic fundraisers.

15. Open membership meeting. Rescheduled for Wednesday, November 14, 2007, 7 p.m., pending space availability. Irwin to secure location. (Note: as of this writing, location for open membership meeting will be P.C. Middle School).

16. Next Meeting. Monday, November 5, 2007, 7 p.m., Fletcher’s Pub, Texas Township
