Discussion/Action
Meeting Minutes: February meeting minutes were approved.
Budget Update: Pobuda provided financial report and reported a current balance of $9,892.37. Details/information related to gate fees will be finalized prior to, and disclosed at, the meeting for selected players and their parents on March 16.
Website: Templeton provided update and reported that schedules for all three teams are now available on web site. He also mentioned that important dates have been added. A total of more than 25 parents/players have signed up to help clean Lawson Arena on March 13.
Coach’s Update:
· Scoreboard – Invoice received for repairs, totaling just less than $1,670.00 (including shipping).
· Uniforms – Bids currently being accepted for new uniform pants. Coach Schneider has submitted his request for the specific pants that are needed.
· Batting Cage (right field side) – Matt Janicke has parts for building frame, and is researching cost/available size(s) of nets. The bullpen will be moved and another mound will be built. Karyn Schaefer reported that turf will have a foam rubber underside. This likely means the cage will have to be built with a slight crown. Golf mats might also be made available for batter's box and pitching area.
· Tryouts will be March 14 and 15 with Frosh/JV 5pm-7pm and Varsity 7pm-9pm in the Stable.
· Parent meeting will be Wednesday, March 16, 7:00pm in Central Middle School’s Little Theatre. Porter presented updated draft agenda for meeting.
· Indoor pitching mound has been ordered and shipped.
Spirit Wear: Patti Schneider emailed an update to PCBB members. She met with John Creek and the apparel list is being reduced based on 2010 purchases. The order form will be distributed at the parent meeting on March 16, with orders due by March 23. Items are expected back in advance of first game on April 11.
Spring Field Clean-up: Date is March 27 at noon. April 9 (9 a.m.) and/or April 10 (noon) are back up dates.
Fundraisers:
· Lawson Cleaning – See above under 'Website.'
· Fence Sign Sponsor renewal letters have been sent. Porter reported that five (5) have been received, totaling $1,250.00. Letters will be available at parent meeting
· MLB Raffle – Porter spoke with Tim Welke, learning that his Tigers and Cubs tickets are not available (they are being donated to a charitable organization associated with underprivileged children). Welke did report that tickets for Cincinnati, Milwaukee, Cleveland and the White Sox might likely still be available. A minimum of five sets of tickets should likely be part of the MLB raffle.
· Membership Drive – Julie Londry has provided email addresses for recent past players. Coach Schneider will look back for past rosters..
· Restaurant night – Porter reported that Welke is receptive to a Penn Station night. He must contact son, Ben. Schaefer reported that Carraba's would likely be interested in doing something, as well.
· Gate fees – See above under 'Budget Update.'
· ESPN magazine sales – Krill reported that he will have forms available at parent meeting. Two-year subscription is $40.00, with $30.00 going to PC baseball program.
Team Banquet: Date is now June 6th at the Fetzer Center. Schaefer will be the PCBB point person and assemble others to assist with planning, etc.
Next Meeting: Selected Players/Parents: Wednesday, March 16, 7 PM at CMS Little Theatre.
Board Meeting: Wednesday, April 13, 7 PM at Main Street Pub.
